The Center for Hellenic Studies offers fellowship opportunities for the 2021-22 academic year. The CHS Fellowship in Hellenic Studies program encourages and supports research of the highest quality on topics related to ancient Greece. The program offers options for collaborative and coordinating proposals. Fellowships include a stipend (maximum $18,000), housing at the CHS in Washington, DC for 4 to 16 weeks, subsidized health insurance, and support for relocation expenses.
Researchers who have achieved a terminal degree in their discipline (e.g. PhD, MFA, EdD) are eligible to apply. Applicants must have defended their degree before July 1, 2020.
As part of the application process, applicants must submit a project proposal, curriculum vitae, a sample of published work, and the contact information for three references.
Applicants should note that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic may impact the fellowship program. During the 2021-22 academic year, if any fellows are unable to travel to Washington, DC due to the pandemic, they will have the option to work remotely and take up the fellowship from home. Deferral requests will not be accepted.
