|June 23, 2017||Posted by Moderator under CHS US Programs & Events|
From May 31 until July 5, 2017, students from American and Greek universities serve as interns at cultural institutions in Nafplio, Greece. In addition to their internship responsibilities, students develop a research project with the guidance of a faculty mentor, and tour cultural and archaeological sites in the Argolid region and in Athens. Learn more about the program here.
The students are twelve in total. The two students below are occupied at the Anthos Library, Fougaro.
“At Fougaro, we work in both the Anthos Library and Η NEA BIBLIOTHIKI, a new library for children. We are responsible for cataloging and organizing books from the time they are donated until they are ready to be shelved. We also work with children during a summer program and have organized a new workshop which teaches math and graphing to children 5-12 years old.”–Library Interns
Olympiada Konstantinidou, Ionian University
My name is Olympiada Konstantinidou and I study in the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology of the Ionian University; since I will be taking the direction of Library Science my knowledge will be focusing more in this field. I enjoy reading in my free time and watching TV shows but I cannot really focus on doing one thing at a time because I get bored easily, so I have started knitting. After graduation, I will most certainly continue my studies, besides looking for some Masters in my field I want to study Psychology as well.
Carly Rose Willing, Boston University
My name is Carly Rose Willing and I am currently a rising senior at Boston University, double majoring in Mathematics-Statistics, and Psychology with a minor in Modern Greek Studies. After graduation, I would like to pursue a graduate degree in Statistics so hopefully one day I will be able to work in the government sector as an analyst, preferably working with international groups like the UN or the NSA. I like soccer and hockey, forensic shows, and taking photographs.
